About me
Kaya, thanks for stopping by! I'm Paula - a dancer, mother, partner, friend, sister, daughter and early intervention enthusiast. My pronouns are she/her.
I created Sing Move Regulate when I was working from home on one of the many days my children were unwell or feeling the pinch of daily schooling. I work in early intervention and have always possessed a keen interest in neuro diversity and children. I invite you to learn more about my program.

As a mother and educator I have put together a list of my favourite books for children covering various topics including recognition of executive functions, self awareness and protective behaviours. Review my recommended books for children.

Sing Move Regulate
"When we begin to know ourselves in an open and self-supportive way, we take the first step to encourage our children to know themselves."
- Daniel J. Siegel
Utilising resources from interoception master, Kelly Mahler; key points from clinical psychologist and author of Non-Violent Communication, Marshall Rosenberg; and all the joy and freedom that live music offers in a neuro affirming environment, we bring you Sing Move Regulate.

Sing Move Regulate is a program designed to support children to develop body awareness with a particular focus on the central nervous system. This program is delivered through a facilitated workshop and tailored to suit children who are aged 6 months to 3 years, 3 to 5 years, and 6 to 9 years. All members of Sing Move Regulate have a Working with Children check and Police Clearance.
*
The team and I will deliver and model specific wording throughout the workshop. The language is intentional and powerful and when embodied will enable children to identify their needs by developing a strong internal framework for expansive feelings and bodily sensations that they can trust. Our bodies are our best teachers. This language enables us to develop skills in boundary setting, taking radical self responsibility, self advocacy and collaborative problem solving.
*
So join us for 90 minutes of wonder as we journey through our body and deep dive into our senses, expand our emotional vocabulary and learn to identify our authentic needs by utilising the natural state of our bodily systems and functions.

Children with special needs
Speaking to the special needs of children is something I take very seriously. All carers will be required to fill in an intake form for their child/ren. Pending the diagnosis and age, children may need to be accompanied by a carer or Education Assistant. This will include non-verbal children. If your children have a particular aversion to music or become overstimulated by movement I will need to be informed. Sensory tools including ear defenders are welcomed, and encouraged!

During my career working in neurodiversity I have worked alongside various allied health Clinicians targeting mainly children and young adults. Understanding more about the spectrum and the human brain has been highly engaging and insightful, enabling me to transfer skills into the home to practise parenting with more intention. This has made me the person that I am today and I bring a world of knowledge and lived experience to the space. By the same token I am not an Occupational Therapist, I have various qualifications which I am open to discuss further so please feel free to ask should you feel called.

Illness
Any COVID or flu-like symptoms will need to be reported, and the child can not attend the workshop.
